In Rebekah's own words...
In the nearly sixteen years I’ve been practicing, the power of therapeutic massage to reduce pain and improve quality of life in clients of all ages and issues never ceases to amaze me. I have personally helped clients improve muscle function after rotator cuff surgeries and injuries, expand range of motion in shoulders and knees, reduce the pain of plantar fasciitis, calm sciatica flare ups, and so much more.
I believe that massage is the missing link in a rehabilitation process that includes chiropractic care and physical therapy. When combined, these three therapies are extremely effective in restoring balance and function to the body. However, as much as the reputation of massage has improved since I first attended school, many conventional medical practitioners remain unaware of how significant a role soft tissue plays in exacerbating chronic pain and common conditions. I find it necessary, therefore, to be both educator and advocate of massage therapy in addition to my roles as therapist and business owner. The more people know about their bodies and how they function as a whole, the more effective their treatment will be both on and off the massage table.
As massage research and knowledge continues to evolve and expand, it is my belief that massage will be as commonly prescribed as physical therapy and chiropractic care. I am hopeful it will be fully covered by insurance one day. Until then, I promise to provide you with the best therapeutic massage options at my disposal at the most reasonable price I can offer.
In regards to living a holistic lifestyle, I am a great believer in the power of nature and mindfulness meditation. I make walking in the woods and meditating at least 10 minutes daily a priority. With my super busy schedule it is absolutely essential that I make this time for myself. I also practice what I preach and endeavor to receive a massage every two weeks.
